Numerous species of fish thrive in the lakes and creeks of the Lakelands, and you will probably catch some fish, no matter if you are fishing from a bridge or a boat.
19 species are registered including zander, trout and perch. In addition, a local angler suggests that an old, 300-kilo European moth resides in one of Knudsø's deep holes.

To be able to fish in the lakes from Mossø to Kongensbro (the Gudenaa), Knudsø included, it is neccesary that you have a fishing license to Silkeborg Fiskeriforening's fishing waters as well as the national fishing license, see below.

Fishing in Denmark requires a national fishing license for people from 18 to 65 years.

When sailing by motor boat on the Himmelbjerg lakes, you must have a guest number.
